Our Story

Hello! My name is Kat.
I am 29 years old, a trade qualified pastry chef, and I specialise in ganache and buttercream cakes.

What once was just a hobby - making cakes at home for family - is now my small little business - Little Whisk Cake Co.

For now I am operating from my home in Aveley (north of Perth), but the dream is to one day open a city based cake studio.

While still working full time managing Perths best baking supplies store, and raising my two very young sons, I have dedicated what’s left of my free time to experimenting with fresh new flavours, colour pallets, and designs.
My favourite part is finding that perfect balance between “Too pretty to eat” and “I need another slice!'“

With the help and encouragement of my husband, and professional cake taster (also a trained pastry chef), we decided that a more professional appearance was required before moving forward as a small business. So a name change (originally The Whisk & Sparrow) and new logo was put into the works!

Whilst it is definitely a challenge working 5 days a week, and running a successful home business, having the opportunity to constantly learn, and refine my skills, is one of my biggest joys.
